The past few years have been an exciting time for the field of molecular biology and medicine due to breakthroughs in basic science and to the widespread use of molecular-based therapies in all fields of medicine. Collaboration between academic centers, industry, government and private agencies has yielded results that we could not have imagined even five years ago in the prevention and treatment of genetic disorders, in transplantation, oncology, infectious diseases, immune deficiencies, allergy among others.
The 7th Conference of Al Jawhara Centre coincides with the opening of the Al Jawhara Centre for Molecular Medicine, Genetics and Inherited Diseases at Arabian Gulf University in Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain. The centre has been made possible due to a generous donation by Her Highness Princess Al Jawhara Bint Ibrahim Al Ibrahim of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and is dedicated to excellence in teaching, research and medicine.
The goal of the conference is to provide an overview of developments in molecular medicine, genetics, therapeutics and other fields, bringing together a mix of academic, industry and public sector experts in an intimate setting that favors the showcase of data, the exchange of ideas and networking.
Tentative dates of the conference: February 10-11, 2009.
Venue of the conference: Al Jawhara Centre for Molecular Medicine, Genetics and Inherited Diseases, Manama, Kingdom of Bahrain.
