Dean's Message

Since its establishment, one of the objectives of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) is to contribute the advancement and development of knowledge through preparing researchers and scientists and conducting fundamental scientific research in particular in the field of technology, as well as establishing strong links and cooperation with other Arab and international universities in order to collaborate in all aspects that enhance the development of higher education and fulfilling its objectives.

Furthermore, another objective of AGU is to conduct studies related to the geographical, social, economical, and political features of the Gulf States and to focus on plans and programs of the university, in particular developing higher and specialized studies in the fields that serve the communities of the Arab countries in the Gulf Region.

Based on these objectives and others, the college of graduate studies has been keen on fulfilling the societal demands for the university states members and contributing into the progress and precocious of these countries citizens.

No doubt, the scientific research is considered to be the major basis for any development in its various forms and levels. Hence, the role of the college of graduate studies outstands in the fulfillment of the targeted objectives. This is reflected through the research thesis prepared by the students as requirements for the Master’s and Doctorate degrees and through the projects contracted between the university and numerous local and regional institutions.

In addition, the college continues to organize several workshops in order to meet the demands of the governmental and private sectors in training their employees. It also conducts conferences and seminars in different fields of unique specializations, through which it exchanges experiences and knowledge with other academic institutes. The faculty members are always encouraged to attend and participate in such events, whether it is locally or internationally, in order to contribute towards the development of the academic staff, as well as to pinpoint the pioneer role of the AGU in the region.
