Welcome to the Arabian Gulf University, a regional university that was founded to be a symbol for joint Gulf cooperation and an environment for fostering unity in the Gulf Cooperation Council.
The mission of the university is to participate in every way that it can, in the

enhancement of higher education and research, for the comprehensive development of the member states. The university seeks this through innovative programming, curriculum renewal and currency of methodologies.
The university aims to provide a positive educational environment for its students, encouraging self-directed learning through available learning resources and targeted experiences. The university further aspires to foster the progressive development of its students, in terms of their values and attitudes, and how these are expressed in social and professional milieux.
In keeping with this goal, the university, in addition to its academic programs, provides social, cultural, health, and athletic facilities and guidance, all within a commitment to Arabic and Islamic convictions, and traditions.
This site contains information about the colleges and programs offered by the university. It outlines services provided to its staff and students, e.g. housing, transportation, medical, social, and its facilities.
The university has two colleges, the College of Graduate Studies and the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences.
The College of Graduate Studies offers a higher diploma and an M.Sc. in the following interdisciplinary programs:

Technological Programs, including: Biotechnology, Technology Management, Desert and Arid Zone Sciences, Management of Water Resources and Environmental Management.

Educational Studies in four major programmes, including: Mental Retardation, Learning Disabilities, Gifted Education and Distance Teaching and Training.
The College of Medicine & Medical Sciences offers the B.Sc. (Med. Sc.), M.D. and M.Sc. degrees
With regard to the B.Sc. in Basic Medical Sciences, and the M.D. degree, the college follows a problem-based curriculum that distinguishes it from other Colleges in the region.
M.Sc. and Diploma programmes are offered in:
- Health Professional Education;
- Health Policy & Population Studies; and
- Laboratory Medicine.
Our Ph.D. programme started in 2005 through a joined programme with Karolinska Institute in Sweden.
