Conditions for Admission to the College of
Medicine
- An applicant should be a national of one of the
GCC member states who jointly established the AGU, namely the United
Arab Emirates, kingdom of Bahrain, Kuwait, the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia,
Sultanate of Oman and Qatar.
- An applicant should be nominated by the
Ministry of Education of her/his country. A limited percentage of the
applicants accepted may be Arabs from other nationalities who are
residents in one of the GCC countries. Those are accepted only on a
fee-paying basis and should submit their applications directly or the
university.
- The applicant should be a recent graduate with
a high school certificate from the current or the previous year. She or
he must meet the university requirements by obtaining a cumulative
average of 90% ( 3.5 out of 4.0 point ) or higher in the high school
certificate.
- The applicant who graduated from a private
school, must submit accreditation from the Ministry of Education of
her/his country.
- The applicant’s age should not exceed 24 years.
- The applicant must sit for a written admission
examination in science (Chemistry, Physics, Biology, Mathematics) and in
English language.
- The applicant must undergo a structured
interview conducted by the college faculty.
- The applicant must submit a health fitness
certificate.
- The applicant must submit a good conduct
certificate from the school she or he graduated from.
- The applicant must pay tuition fees if she or
he is accepted on fee-paying basis.
- The applicant must submit a completed application form and all
required supporting documents.
- Conditions for transfer to second year/College Of
Medicine:
The College of Medicine may consider applications to transfer to second
year if there are vacancies, taking in to consideration the following
conditions:
- All the conditions applying to direct-entry to
first year applicants are also applicable to transfer applicants with
the exception of the condition concerning the year of graduation from
secondary school. For transfer applications, applicants can be
considered for admission if their secondary school certificate dates
from two years previously.
- The applicant should have passed all the
courses required in the first year/College of Medicine.
- The applicant should obtain grade point average
not less than B ( very good ) in the courses she or he passed at the
previous college.
- The applicant should not been dismissed from the previous college
for misconduct.
