Chief Executive Officer of the Bahrain Labour Fund “Tamkeen”,  Dr Ebrahim Mohammed Janahi and President of the AGU, Dr Khalid bin Abdulrahman Al-Ohali, discussed opportunities of strategic cooperation in the field of community work and the development of education and training sectors, in order to include Bahraini and Gulf youth in the economic development process, with a spirit of innovation and entrepreneurship in various fields.
During the meeting held at Tamkeen's headquarters, Dr Al-Ohali commended cooperation with Tamkeen to build a strategic partnership supporting the establishment of scientific conferences, specialised lectures and training workshops in realisation of the vision GCC leaders. This vision aims to enhance human resources, capabilities and skills to serve the advancement of Gulf societies at all levels.
AGU’s President said: "It is a source of pride to collaborate with Tamkeen, which is always supportive of youth and entrepreneurship through its financing solutions. Our strategic objectives have always shared Tamkeen’s common goal of advancing Bahraini and Gulf communities and creating a nurturing environment for innovation and creativity.”
On his part, Dr Janahi said: "Tamkeen supports all programmes that aim to develop individual skills, raising awareness of entrepreneurship and instilling leadership values among youth. We anticipate future cooperation with AGU’s Community Service, Consultancy, Training and Continuing Education Centre by supporting professional certification programmes and specialised training workshops and initiatives in various fields, in a step to achieve Bahrain’s 2030 vision."
The meeting was attended by the Director of AGU’s Centre for Community Service, Consultancy, Training and Continuing Education, Dr Tariq Ahmed Al-Shaibani. The two parties discussed ways of supporting the university’s activities –holding conferences, lectures, scientific workshops and certified training courses that contribute to the process of growth and development. Dr Al-Shaibani confirmed the centre’s keenness since its inception to provide a qualitative consultancy, services and training programmes that aid in the development of the Gulf community in a manner that meets the requirements and challenges of the age.
Dr Al-Shaibani indicated the inevitability of developing continuing education programs that tie university experiences and knowledge to the individual’s practical life, helping them employ their experience to increase productivity and tackle issues in the work field through solutions derived from the real world. He simultaneously stressed the importance of employing research as well as theoretical and experimental studies, benefitting from their results in the development of the Gulf’s production systems.
