Diploma

Teaching and learning practices are based on the same theoretical and practical frameworks that Distance Learning is based on, therefore, the studying scheme has  a high level  flexibility as it provides electronic and printed activities and learning materials along side with the Face to Face classes.  Add to that, the provided support via the internet, multimedia and Virtual Learning Environments. The program educational materials were designed to activate the positive and active role of the student, these materials also emphasis on a circle of interactions between the students and the content, the students with the instructor and the interaction between the students themselves.  The program focuses on the importance of these interactions to guarantee the success of the learning process.

The courses take the form of instructional modules. Each module starts with intensive meetings between the students and the assigned instructor that takes thirty hours, through which the student learns through discussions and case studies, the students also are trained under the supervision of the instructor. Following, the students are provided with self learning as well to self and final assessing materials, these materials help the students in learning the content of the module and communicating with the instructor face to face or from distance.

The program modules are Delivered in sequence, as each module is Administrated in one month except for two modules, the first one is Designing e-Learning Materials, which is given throughout the first semester as its related to all of the main modules in this semester. This module concentrates on providing the student with electronic activities designing skills and using Virtual Learning Environments. The second module is the Diploma Project that should be developed by the student gradually from the beginning of the semester by applying what s/he learned on creating an electronic instructional course.

Among the program modules, the students required to study two practical modules in designing e-learning materials and developing the interactive electronic learning materials.  The first module concentrates on training the students on using the multimedia software, Blackboard and the other support software that helps the students in building electronic learning activities and using Virtual Learning Environments. The second module concentrates on providing the students with the skills of using multimedia development software that are commonly used in Distance Learning.

In addition to all the previously mentioned courses, the students are directed while studying each module to employ what they learn to gradually develop a learning or training course of his/her selection (Diploma Project). Every student executes the diploma project under the supervision and the follow up of the program instructors step by step according to a pre-prepared timetable.  When the students completes the studying of the diploma modules and complete the diploma project, the university Endorse him/her a Graduate Diploma Degree in Distance Teaching and Training.
