   Personnel Affairs and Human Resources

Coming under the Director of the Office of Administrative Affairs, this unit is responsible all staff affairs and works with the entire administration of the University.

Unit Tasks:

  1. Preparing the strategy and time frame to accomplish tasks related to all the dealings of personnel affairs.
  2. Executing all statutory provisions pertaining to hiring along with the instructions issued by the University management to monitor and maintain the quality standards in the University.
  3. Preparing advertisements for available vacancies in the University on the University website, other related websites, and in newspapers.
     
  4. Preparing studies, data and statistics pertaining to the staff as requested.
     
  5. Monitoring the attendance and departure of all the staff and requesting reports to be sent to those directly in charge, in order to make them aware of such information.
  6. Investigating and assessing circumstances regarding job complainants from the staff and sending memos and suggestions about them to the management.
  7. Conveying the necessary information with the retirement fund to complete the transactions that are related to the University employees.
  8. Supervising the proceedings of work-related employee injuries in co-ordination with the retirement fund, medical commissions and other insurance companies along with and overseeing the needed compensation for all those concerned.
  9. Overseeing all job requests that have been offered and referring them for optimal selection.
  10. Continuously monitoring the employment regulations and the salary steps and making suggestions and requests regarding such to the management.
  11. Organizing workshops and training courses in co-operation with the Technical Service Unit and the English Language Unit along with contacting the concerned parties to prepare specialized training and educational courses and also possibly arranging for courses to be taken outside of the University.
  12. Listening to all concerns and complaints of the staff and handling and resolving such matters.
     
  13. Preparing a strategy and circulars, depending on the circumstances, regarding topics that are required to be made public.
     
  14. Monitoring and evaluating staff performance.
  15. Monitoring contract renewal in the University pertaining to job performance, and the University’s requirements.
  16. Determining staff allocation for airline tickets or compensation for non-Bahraini employees.
     
  17. Taking the necessary specific actions regarding annual leave and other holidays /breaks.
