The Effectiveness of a Training Program in Reducing the Hyperactivity and Attention Deficit for Children with Mild Intellectual Disability in Kuwait

Abstract: This study aimed at identifing the effectiveness of a training program in reducing hyperactivity and attention deficit for children with mild intellectual disability. The study sample consisted of 12 children with mild intellectual disability, and their ages were between (7-10) years, from the intellectual education-boys school in Kuwait. They were divided into two groups: one of them is an experimental and the other is control. There were (6) children in each group. The study instruments consisted of attention deficit and hyperactivity scale which included two dimensions – one is hyperactivity dimension and the other is attention deficit. The experimental method for the two equivalent groups has been used, and the results showed the existence of statistically significant differences in the post measurement in favor of the experimental group. There were no statistically significant differences between the post measurement and follow up measurement.
