The Effectiveness of a Training Program in Reducing Hyperactivity of Children with Autism Spectrum Disorder

Abstract: The study aimed at identifying the effectiveness of a training program in reducing hyperactivity in children with autism spectrum disorder. The sample of study consisted of (7) children with autism spectrum disorder from the Center for Special Education in The Kingdom of Bahrain, and their ages ranged between (4-7) years. The quasi-experimental method was used in the study. Research instruments consisted of hyperactivity scale of children with autism spectrum disorder, a form to identify favorite reinforcements for the sample, a playing form for the children in the sample, and the training program to reduce hyperactivity of children with autism spectrum disorder "all prepared by the researcher". The search results pointed to the presence of statistically significant differences in hyperactivity in children with autism spectrum disorder before and after the application of the program for the benefit of the post-test. There were no statistically significant differences in hyperactivity in children with autism spectrum disorder in the post-and follow up tests of the program.
