Professor Penny Hansen Professor of Physiology, Faculty of Medicine, Memorial University of Newfoundland, Canada & Co-chair IUPS education committee. Prof Hansen has received multiple teaching awards for her efforts, including the APS Arthur C. Guyton Physiology Teacher of the Year Award. She was the Founding Director of the Memorial University Centre for Collaborative Health Professional Education and she also spent nine years (1992-2001) as the Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Physiology Education.

Dr Dee Silverthorn Senior lecturer, School of Biological Sciences at The University of Texas at Austin, USA. Dr Silverthorn has been honoured with many awards, including a Distinguished Lectureship Award by the American Physiological Society (APS) and the APS Arthur C. Guyton Physiology Teacher of the Year Award. Author of the award winning textbook, Human Physiology: An Integrated Approach and she also spent six years as the Editor-in-Chief of Advances in Physiology Education.

Professor Robert G. (Rob) Carroll Professor of Physiology, Brody School of Medicine, East Carolina University, USA & Editor-in-Chief, Advances in Physiology Education. Author of several physiology textbooks, past APS Education Committee Chair, USMLE physiology committee member, APS Arthur C. Guyton Physiology Teacher of the Year Award recipient and current IUPS education committee member.

Professor Usha Nayar Former Chairperson Physiology and Director Master’s in Health Professions Education programme, College of Medicine and Medical Sciences, Arabian Gulf University. Prof Nayar has won many National and International awards in Neurophysiology and Medical Education. She pioneered the use of the objective structured practical examination (OSPE), was a WHO consultant and a member of the IUPS education committee (1992 – 2002; 2005 – 2009).

Professor Osamu Matsuo Professor of Physiology, Kinki University School of Medicine, Japan & Director of Medical Education Center. Prof Matsuo has been an elected member of many committees and councils, including a council member of the Physiological Society of Japan and council board member of the Japan Society for Medical Education. He also is an exectutive council member of the Asia-Pacific Association on Problem Based Learning in Health Sciences and has been chairman of the curriculum committee at his Medical School.
