The AGU Library is one of the most important university libraries in Bahrain. It works actively to gather resources and provide services to students and researchers through two specialized sub-libraries: the Medical Science Library and the Science and Technology Library.

Core activities
The Library Department is responsible for facilitating all Library activities and procedures. The following is an overview of the core activities that the Department oversees:

Providing staff and students with any assistance required.

Ensuring that the staff and students have access to all the relevant information by providing them with the latest sources of materials, enabling the staff and students to efficiently borrow and return items.

Identifying items to be purchased.

Identifying items needed to be replaced.

Providing staff and students with a Library environment that can enhance their learning.

Ensuring that Library resources and facilities are sufficient in amount, and not lacking any necessary requirements.
Structure and Governance
LLRC consists of two main sites, the Library of Medicine and the Library of Graduate Studies, to which are attached the resource collections of all disciplines.
The different departments attached to the LLRC ensures the application of professional practices and working procedures. They are responsible for the management of collections and the provision of services to users.
The LLRC manages its relations with the academic structures and faculty members of the University through a coordinating unit of liaison librarians.
The roles and responsibilities of the key personnel in the Library Department are provided below.
Library Director
Library Director is responsible for reviewing all library related processes between the Library and AGU staff and students, and supervises the overall performance of the Department. The Head also supervises the performance of the employees, ensuring that they adhere to the policies set out.
Library Staff
Library Staff are responsible for all processes involving the library. They perform informational, professional, and technical activities such as acquisition, circulation, periodical, classifying, cataloging for library holdings facilitating retrieval of required sources of information from subscribes databases.
