Quality Assurance is one of the important pillars of the Arabian Gulf University’s (AGU) strategic plan. The second goal in AGU’s Strategic Plan 2017-2021 aims to sustain and develop quality of education in all services at AGU and attain program accreditation, higher ranking and high performance standards. Moreover, objective 3 of this goal calls for enhancing organizational capacity by strengthening governance and decision-making. It also promotes a culture of quality, accountability and excellence. To ensure its quality of operations at the institutional level, the AGU invited the National Commission for Academic Accreditation and Assessment (NCAAA) to review its operations and the NCAAA acknowledged these quality assurance values and practices by awarding the AGU institutional accreditation in 2013. Moreover, the AGU has attained program accreditation from a number of international professional bodies and is continuing its undertaking to meet its strategic goals of achieving program accreditation for all its programs.
To meet its objectives and to ensure its quality of operations, the AGU established the Quality and Excellence Centre at the intuition level in 2013. The Centre administratively comes under the office of AGU President and works closely with the various AGU Administrative and Academic Quality Assurance committees. The Centre is responsible for monitoring the implementation of the AGU’s quality assurance initiatives and policies in order to ensure quality outcomes that conform to international standards and frameworks.
