Program Fees

1.     Admission Fees:  

US$6,500 (Six Thousands and Five Hundred US Dollars) equivalent to 2,450 Bahraini Dinars.


2.     Participation Costs: 

Participants are required to make three visits to the Arabian Gulf University Campus in Bahrain, one at the beginning of the program (Course 1: 10 days),  the second is in the middle of the program (After Course 5: 5 days) for the Midterm exam, the third at the end of the program (Course  10; 5 days) for presenting the IWRM project and setting for the final exam. The cost of these participations are as follows:

  1. Travelling to Bahrain: three time; to be borne by the participant (estimated at 500 US$ for each trip by air travel)
  2. Accommodation: three visits to be borne by the participant; can be provided at the Arabian Gulf University campus at subsidized rate of 350 US$ as a total for the three visits.
  3. Transportation: transportation between campus housing and University is provided free using AGU shuttle service.
  4. Food: daily lunches and snacks during visit is provided by university.
  5. Entry visa to Bahrain (needed for non-GCC countries citizens): obtained and provided for free by the university.

 

3.     Fellowships

  1. A number of fellowships are offered by the UNESCO Cairo Office for water professionals from low-income Arabic countries. The announcement of these fellowships is made through the National UNESCO Committees (Natcoms) in the Arab countries. The total cost of the participants is borne by the UN Water Learning Center.
  2. Three fellowships are offered by the Kuwait Foundation for the Advancement of Science (KFAS). It includes covering the Admission Fees only.
  3. One fellowship is offered by the Water Science and Technology Association (WSTA). The fellowship includes exemption from the program fees only.
  4. Five full fellowships are offered by the Arab Fund for Economic and Social Development (AFESD) - Kuwait. The total cost of the participants is borne by the AFESD.
