
Kuwait’s Health Minister Visits the Arabian Gulf University, Commends the Upcoming Expansion of its Simulation and Clinical Skills Centre

His Excellency Dr Ahmed Al Awadhi, Minister of Health of the State of Kuwait, met with His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University (AGU), and hailed the university’s advanced position in medical education at the Gulf and regional levels, attributing it to the university’s strong capabilities and professional expertise in modern medical education based on simulation.
Dr Al Awadhi praised the upcoming expansion of the university's Centre for Simulation and Clinical Skills, which will provide students with advanced skills and qualify them to join the ranks of top medical professionals.
During his visit to the university, the Minister expressed his admiration for the high level of students studying at the College of Medicine and Medical Sciences (CMMS), and praised the advanced capabilities provided by the Centre for Simulation and Clinical Skills and the Anatomy Museum.
He further stressed that the development in medical education is what makes AGU a distinguished institution with an honourable academic reputation, with top students competing for the opportunity to study there.
Moreover, Dr Al Awadhi explained that the university’s outputs supply the medical sector in all Gulf countries, with graduates quickly joining the list of best professional doctors due to their practical training in simulation centres, clinical skills, and advanced medical curricula.
The minister also praised Kuwaiti students who are studying at the university, saying: “I am proud to return to this prestigious Gulf university, which has been a symbol of Gulf and Arab identity since its founding in 1980. I am happy to see you with this determination, persistence, mastery, and excellence in academic achievement.”
On his part, AGU President praised the depth of relations between Kuwait and the university, highlighting the level of Kuwaiti students studying at the university as a key factor in raising health care levels. He stressed the importance of strengthening cooperation and exchanging successful health experiences and expertise between GCC countries to prepare qualified medical personnel who contribute to improving health sector services.
Furthermore, Dr Al Fuhaid appreciated the role of Kuwait in supporting the university since its inception more than four decades ago, praising its endless support for the university’s progress and educational projects.
During his visit, Dr Al Awadhi was briefed on the Anatomy Museum of the CMMS, which contains 122 human bodies, limbs, and organs preserved in formalin, as well as educational models and real human sections preserved in plastic for various organs of the human body.
