Minister of Education Meets AGU President and First Place Student Winners of Jeddah Nursing Olympiad

His Excellency Dr Mohamed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education and Chairman of the Board of Trustees of the Higher Education Council, welcomed His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of Arabian Gulf University (AGU), along with nursing students from the College of Medicine and Health Sciences who secured first place in the fifth edition of the Nursing Olympiad, organised by King Saud bin Abdulaziz University for Health Sciences in Saudi Arabia.

During the meeting, His Excellency the Minister of Education commended the vital role played by AGU in qualifying its nursing students through a comprehensive academic programme designed to equip them as top-tier healthcare staff across the Gulf. He congratulated the university on its students’ outstanding achievement in winning first place in the Nursing Olympiad, outperforming competitors from 21 other Gulf universities. This accomplishment underscores the high standards and excellence attained by the university, which the Kingdom of Bahrain honoured to host.

For his part, Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid expressed pride in the students’ accomplishments whose distinguished participation in a competitive Gulf-wide event reflects the collective efforts of the GCC to promote collaboration, develop qualified personnel, and ensure graduates are well-prepared to meet the demands of the job market with competence.

The winning students from the Nursing Department at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences are namely: Ali Ibrahim Abbas Ibrahim, Sayed Taha Fathallah, Zainab Jassim Abdali, and Zainab Kadhim Ahmed.
