Participants in the Future Leaders Summer Camp, organised by Bahrain Islamic Bank (BisB) in partnership with INJAZ Bahrain, recently visited the University Medical Centre at the King Abdullah Medical City, affiliated with the Arabian Gulf University (AGU). This visit was part of the activities of the third edition of the Future Leaders Summer Camp, aimed at qualifying the next generation of leaders aged 7 to 18 by providing educational and entertainment experiences.

During the visit, Dr Salman Hamad Al Zayani, CEO of the University Medical Centre, welcomed the participants, praising the efforts of BiSB and INJAZ Bahrain, which are dedicated to providing the participating children, youth and teenagers with an insightful glimpse into the professional world within the medical sector. This initiative allows them to engage in educational trips to some of the largest institutions in the Kingdom, meet medical figures and business leaders, and gain knowledge about various work environments, all aimed at developing their life skills through field visits and innovation challenges.

On the occasion, Dr Al Zayani stated: “The collaboration between the University Medical Centre and the King Abdullah Medical City with the participating institutions, whether private or civil, represents a fundamental strategic partnership aimed at achieving sustainable health development in our society. This joint effort, which lies at the heart of our social responsibility, helps provide more comprehensive health services, enhance health awareness and build a healthier and more vibrant society.”

He added: “We share common objectives that focus on adopting purposeful initiatives designed to empower Bahraini youth and enable them to explore different medical and professional paths aligned with their interests and ambitions. Through a variety of educational experiences aimed at sharpening their skills and fostering their spirit of innovation, we aim to build a strong foundation for their professional futures, as they are the leaders of tomorrow who will significantly contribute to the progress and prosperity of the Kingdom of Bahrain.”

The visit comprised several stations, beginning with a tour of the ambulance within the emergency room, followed by an exploration of the outpatient clinics at the University Medical Centre, which included a focus on dentistry and the significance of maintaining healthy and bright smiles. Participants then engaged with the radiology department and attended workshops on practical first aid skills.
