Prof. Sequeria joined Arabian Gulf University almost at inception of the medical school and served on several key committees of the college and university, as chair or member. Over the last almost four decades, he has played a leadership role in developing and implementing various modules of the MD program. He was an adjunct faculty for the graduate program in health professions education, and a member of the WHO Collaborating Centre for Educational Development. Prof. Sequeria has supervised or examined graduate theses and conducted faculty development workshops on medical education. He has been invited speaker at international meetings, visiting faculty, recipient of awards and other international recognitions notably the distinguished teacher of pharmacology award by Indian Pharmacology Society, Fogarty International fellowship by National Institutes of Health, USA; fellowship by American College of Clinical Pharmacology; and WHO fellowship for training in Clinical pharmacology at Groningen University, The Netherlands.
