The first issue of Volume 44 of the Arabian Gulf Journal of Scientific Research: Water, Energy, Food, and Environment was published in May 2026, reflecting the journal\u2019s commitment to promoting scientific research in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries in particular, and around the world in general, in interrelated fields such as water, energy, food, and the environment. Editor-in-Chief Prof. Dr. Wahib Al-Nasser stated that the journal continues to solidify its position as a leading platform for publishing high-quality research addressing sustainability challenges in the Arabian Gulf region and beyond, and remains committed to publishing impactful studies that contribute to the sustainable management of resources, enhance environmental resilience and adaptability, and support technological innovation, while ensuring compliance with the recommendations of the British global publisher Emerald for a successful transition to the journal\u2019s updated scope in 2025.<\/p>
He noted that the new scientific contributions in the latest issue reflect the journal\u2019s ongoing mission to promote integrated, innovative research relevant to the region\u2019s needs in the fields of water, energy, food, and the environment. The new issue features a diverse range of research addressing key topics in these fields, including a study published by researchers from Mahatma Gandhi Central University in India on \u201cphosphate-solubilizing rhizosphere bacteria as a natural solution for improving soil fertility and plant nutrition,\u201d as well as a study evaluating \u201csoil and crop contamination using pollution indicators\u201d prepared by researchers from the Institute of Soil, Water, and Environmental Research in Egypt. <\/p>
The issue features research related to sustainability challenges, including a study published by researchers from the University of Huddersfield in the United Kingdom on \u201canalyzing the role of trade openness and foreign direct investment in promoting environmental sustainability in the Sultanate of Oman,\u201d as well as a study prepared by researchers from the University of Tunis Al-Manar based on the \u201cCS-ARDL model\u201d to examine the impact of energy transition and technological innovation on environmental quality.<\/p>
This issue features an analytical study conducted by researchers from the United Arab Emirates University in Al Ain that examines \u201ca comparison of entrepreneurial thinking patterns and their role in supporting the development of sustainable ecosystems in arid regions, with a focus on North Africa and the Gulf Cooperation Council countries.\u201d Complementing these topics, the issue includes a study conducted by researchers from Nanaji Deshmukh University of Veterinary Sciences in India that addresses \u201ca comprehensive review of natural ingredients capable of improving the longevity and safety of meat and its products, thereby contributing to sustainable food systems.<\/p>
\u201d It is worth noting that the journal accepts no more than 20% of the research it receives, given its classification as a Q2 journal. The journal received 70 submissions for this issue, of which only 8.5% were accepted following review by two international peer reviewers, review by the associate editor, and approval by the editor-in-chief.
