Researcher Aisha Fouad Al-Burshaid, a student in the Master of Science in Digital Education program in the Department of Education and Curriculum at the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences at Arabian Gulf University, discussed her thesis titled: \u201cDesigning Activities for Teaching English Through the ClassDojo Platform and Their Impact on Motivation and Achievement Among Sixth-Grade Elementary Students,\u201d in fulfillment of the requirements for a Master of Science degree in Digital Education.<\/p>
The study aimed to design instructional activities based on the \u201cClassDojo\u201d platform for teaching English by identifying appropriate instructional content, establishing design criteria for the activities, proposing a model for their development and implementation, and examining their impact on students\u2019 motivation and academic achievement.<\/p>
The study employed descriptive, developmental, and quasi-experimental approaches, and included a sample of 61 sixth-grade students from a public school in the Kingdom of Bahrain. The educational activities designed using the \u201cClassDojo\u201d platform were implemented over a six-week period with the experimental group, while the control group received traditional instruction.<\/p>
The study\u2019s results showed a marked improvement in the level of motivation among students in the experimental group toward learning English. The results also indicated a significant positive effect of the educational activities based on the \u201cClassDojo\u201d platform in raising academic achievement compared to traditional teaching methods.<\/p>
The researcher recommended expanding the use of the \u201cClassDojo\u201d platform and other digital educational platforms that support motivation-based learning and educational games in schools, and working to train teachers to design interactive digital learning activities that help enhance student engagement and motivation to learn. She also recommended conducting further studies on the impact of long-term use of the platform on the development of motivation and academic achievement across different grade levels and courses.<\/p>
The thesis defense committee consisted of Dr. Al-Muthanna Mustafa Qasaymeh, Associate Professor of Educational Technology at Arabian Gulf University, as the primary advisor, and Dr. Sahar Riyad Hamza, Associate Professor of Digital Media at Arabian Gulf University, as the co-advisor, while Prof. Dr. Al-Ajab Mohammed Al-Ajab, Professor of Educational Technology and Distance Learning at Arabian Gulf University, served as the internal examiner, and Prof. Dr. Ibrahim Yousif Al-Yousif, Professor of Educational Technology at the College of Education, King Faisal University, served as the external examiner.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
