New Formation of the Arabian Gulf University Medical Club to Promote Hands-On Learning and Student Engagement

by Fatima Hajari | أكتوبر 1, 2026 | غير مصنف

The College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Arabian Gulf University has reformed the organizing committee of the Medical Club for the 2026–2027 academic year, with the aim of promoting student participation, expanding opportunities for hands-on learning, and solidifying the club’s role as a platform that bridges academic medical knowledge and practical experience, under the supervision of Dr. Abdullah Al-Saleh.

The new executive board includes student Nouria Al-Owaidh as president, student Mohamed Al-Balushi as vice president, student Mohamed Al-Wusaibai as Activities Coordinator, and student Nayef Al-Mufleh as Secretary. The committee is responsible for organizing the club’s programs and events and promoting student participation in scientific and practical activities, thereby enriching their academic experience, and linking medical knowledge to practical application.

The new formation stems from the club’s vision to provide students of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, across all academic years, with the opportunity to participate in workshops, clinical simulations, and activities that complement the curriculum, thereby going beyond the traditional framework of learning and contributing to the development of their scientific and practical skills.

In this new phase, the club’s motto is “Medicine Beyond Textbooks to Practical Reality,” emphasizing the importance of integrating theoretical knowledge with practical application and providing students with opportunities to explore their interests in various medical specialties and develop their skills through practice, interaction, and teamwork.

Dr. Abdullah Al-Saleh, Head of the Department of Microbiology and Immunology and Assistant Professor at the College of Medicine and Health Sciences, emphasized that the Medical Club is committed to offering scientific and academic activities that enrich students’ experiences and enhance their knowledge and skills, noting that the new committee encourages student attendance and active participation in campus life.

He explained that the club provides a supportive environment for innovation, interaction, and volunteer work, and contributes to honing leadership skills, fostering team spirit, and strengthening communication among students in different academic years, thereby facilitating the exchange of knowledge and expertise and allowing students to benefit from the diverse experiences within the college.

Al-Saleh noted that the club serves as an educational space complementary to academic learning, helping students apply their theoretical knowledge in practical and interactive contexts and broaden their understanding of various medical fields, thereby better preparing them for their future careers.

Through its programs, the club focuses on enhancing practical knowledge and fostering collaboration among students in different years, organizing educational activities and experiences that bring them closer to the reality of medical practice, and enabling them to explore various specialties and develop communication, teamwork, and problem-solving skills—all of which enhance their readiness for the demands of the profession.

The restructuring of the Medical Club’s organizing committee is part of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences at Arabian Gulf University’s commitment to strengthening students’ role as partners in shaping their educational experience, and to provide an environment that combines academic achievement with initiative, interaction, and practical application. This aligns with the university’s mission to prepare medical professionals who possess the knowledge, skills, and ability to engage in continuous learning and keep pace with developments in medical practice.
