Arabian Gulf University celebrated its university hospital’s achievement of Platinum Accreditation from the National Health Regulatory Authority during a ceremony held by the university for this occasion. The event was attended by university and hospital officials to recognize the efforts of the hospital’s staff in achieving this milestone and enhancing the quality of healthcare services.

During the ceremony, His Excellency Dr. Saad bin Saud Al-Fahaid, President of the Arabian Gulf University, emphasized that the University Hospital’s attainment of Platinum Accreditation is the culmination of the continuous efforts made by hospital staff across various specialties, and their commitment to improving performance and enhancing the level of services provided to patients, praising the role of the medical, nursing, technical, and administrative staff in achieving this institutional milestone.

His Excellency noted the University’s commitment to continuing its support for the hospital and enabling it to develop its medical, academic, and research capabilities, thereby strengthening the integration of its roles in providing health care, medical education, and scientific research, and solidifying its contribution to preparing qualified medical and health professionals, as well as supporting the development of the health sector in the Kingdom of Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries.

He added that the development of the University Hospital is part of the university’s commitment to enhancing the quality of its healthcare and academic outputs and providing an integrated environment that combines medical practice, education, training, and scientific research—keeping pace with rapid developments in the healthcare sector and meeting the needs of society.

For his part, Dr. Shaher bin Dhafar Al-Shahri, CEO of the University Hospital, emphasized during the ceremony that achieving Platinum accreditation is the result of teamwork and the efforts made by the hospital’s various teams to establish quality and patient safety standards in medical and operational practices, noting that this achievement reflects the hospital’s commitment to reviewing its performance and developing its services in accordance with approved standards.

He explained that the hospital continues to work on improving medical services, upgrading facilities and equipment, enhancing the competence of its professional staff, and adopting modern medical technologies—all of which contribute to strengthening the efficiency of healthcare procedures and enhancing the patient experience. He emphasized the importance of ongoing development to ensure the sustainability of service quality and to meet evolving needs in the field of healthcare.

The Platinum accreditation comes amid the University Hospital’s ongoing development efforts, which have included modernizing a number of medical departments and facilities, as well as imaging, diagnostic, and treatment technologies, in addition to adopting artificial intelligence-powered technologies to enhance service efficiency and diagnostic accuracy.

In February 2026, the university also unveiled the hospital’s new corporate identity, coinciding with the launch of development projects and initiatives aimed at modernizing its services and enhancing its medical and operational capabilities, thereby supporting the integration of its roles in healthcare, medical education, and scientific research.
