The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) and the Alumni Club recently signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) to establish a framework for joint cooperation in educational, professional, and capacity-building initiatives, aimed at benefiting students, graduates, and the wider community.
The agreement was signed on behalf of AGU by His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, and on behalf of the Alumni Club by its President, Mr Abdul Latif Ahmed Al Zayani, affirming both parties' commitment to strengthening institutional partnerships and integrating the roles of the university and its graduates.
The MoU seeks to deepen the relationship between the university and the Alumni Club; expand communication and networking opportunities among current students, graduates, faculty, and staff; and explore joint initiatives that support community development.
Key areas of cooperation outlined in the agreement include organising networking events, workshops, seminars, and joint conferences, in addition to mentorship and professional development programmes for students and graduates. Subject to university regulations and approval, scientific and intellectual resources such as research outputs will be shared to enrich the Alumni Club’s knowledge base and support educational and professional advancement.
Under the terms of the MoU, the Alumni Club will assist in organising events, mentorship programmes, and career development activities, along with providing practical training opportunities for students throughout the year. In turn, AGU commits to providing access to its facilities, resources, and academic expertise to support these collaborative efforts. Both parties will appoint designated coordinators to oversee implementation, monitor progress, and identify further areas for collaboration. Regular meetings will be held to evaluate outcomes, address challenges, and explore further development opportunities.
This agreement reflects AGU’s commitment to strengthening partnerships with civil society organisations and the professional sector, aligning educational outcomes with labour market needs, and empowering graduates to contribute to academic and developmental progress, consistent with its regional mission and strategic goals.
