The Quality Assurance and Strategic Planning Centre at the Arabian Gulf University (AGU) has launched a new digital platform aimed at transforming data analysis and reporting. This initiative aligns with the university’s strategy to enhance and sustain the quality of education, research and innovation, ensuring academic excellence and bolstering the institution’s regional and global presence.

During a meeting chaired by His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of AGU, the objectives of the platform project were presented. This project focuses on improving efficiency and user-friendliness through automation, scalability and integration, providing significant time savings and enabling stakeholders to access reports anytime and anywhere.

The platform will manage data from multiple sources while ensuring its quality and automatic updates, as well as making historical data available in an archive for easy and swift comparisons. Additionally, it will feature interactive analysis capabilities, support decision-making, advanced data visualisation, and supply performance indicators to aid in informed decision-making.

Dr Al Fuhaid emphasised that the new platform is a significant step toward enhancing the status of the University as a leading educational institution. He noted that this initiative aligns with the AGU’s aspirations to be at the forefront of institutions embracing digital transformation and achieving excellence in all aspects of academic and administrative work.

He expressed pride in this initiative, which reflects the university’s commitment to developing its digital infrastructure, thereby enhancing the quality of education and keeping pace with the demands of the digital age. The President further confirmed that this platform will enable more accurate and effective data analysis, contributing to improved academic performance and ensuring the sustainability of innovation and excellence in all areas of academic work.

For his part, Dr Adel Kamal stated that the launch of this digital platform is part of the university’s ongoing efforts to promote the sustainability of quality education, research and innovation. He highlighted the continuous work to develop data analysis mechanisms and indicators, providing vital academic reports and assessing university students’ evaluations of academic staff across various faculties in a timely manner.

He praised the efforts of the team that completed the platform project, which will facilitate and improve the process of data collection and analysis, thereby enhancing informed and transparent decision-making. Furthermore, it will contribute to increasing the efficiency of administrative and educational work within the university, keeping pace with the latest technological developments in higher education.

Moreover, Dr Kamal explained that the project phases began with collecting data from various departments to create a comprehensive database comprising all faculty members, courses, and programmes. This process includes generating individual reports for each course and faculty member, as well as producing comprehensive reports that are automated and integrated into a unified platform.

He added that the project will also involve the development of processes and services using the latest innovations in artificial intelligence and machine learning, with forward-thinking creative insights aimed at analysing student feedback, predicting performance and reviewing research papers, among other tasks.
