AGU Launches Exhibition Showcasing Initiatives to Strengthen Institutional Innovation and Educational Excellence

His Excellency Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, President of Arabian Gulf University (AGU), inaugurated the university’s exhibition of innovative initiatives. The event showcased a range of development projects aimed at enhancing academic and administrative performance, while strengthening digital transformation within the university.

The exhibition is part of the university’s ongoing commitment to creating a modern learning environment that promotes sustainable impact in scientific research while advancing the competencies of both students and faculty members.

Among the featured initiatives was the Research Management System, an integrated digital platform designed to streamline research proposal submissions, project monitoring, and scientific output documentation, thereby bolstering research production. Other projects included the Digital Promotions platform for faculty, which automates promotion procedures and ensures accurate, transparent tracking, besides offering professional development programmes aimed at enhancing teaching, research, and leadership skills, aligned with the latest technological advancements.

The exhibition also introduced the STAR initiative, an electronic system for documenting students’ extracurricular and training activities, helping to build comprehensive skills portfolios that improve their readiness for the job market. Meanwhile, the Student Leadership Programme focuses on cultivating young leaders capable of responsibility and teamwork. The Peer Learning initiative was also showcased, which allows students to support each other academically through a collaborative and stimulating learning environment.

Dr Ghazi Abdulrahman Alotaibi, Vice President for Academic Affairs and Scientific Research and supervisor of the initiatives, affirmed that this exhibition reflects the university’s strategic focus on institutional innovation and digital transformation. These projects mark a significant step forward in advancing the educational and research landscape, he stated, commenting, “The university is keen to implement initiatives that prioritise students and faculty, improve the quality of education and scientific research, and develop competencies in line with best global practices. This exhibition embodies creativity, teamwork, and a shared vision for a sustainable impact that benefits our community and the region.”

The event took place in the university square on Wednesday, 4 February 2026, from 11 am to 1 pm, with the participation of numerous academic and administrative leaders, faculty members, and students.
