The Arabian Gulf University (AGU) has opened of admissions for its Professional Diploma in Cybersecurity Technology. Offered by AGU's Centre for Consultation and Training in collaboration with the Department of Computing at the College of Education, Administrative and Technical Sciences, the programme will begin next February. This initiative reflects the university's efforts to enhance national talent to keep pace with the rapid digital transformation and protect digital infrastructure.

The launch of this diploma responds to increasing demand from community institutions across the Gulf, driven by the widespread expansion of electronic services and smart systems, along with the rising cybersecurity risks and threats. Addressing these challenges requires qualified professionals equipped with advanced technical expertise and practical knowledge.

The programme integrates cutting-edge scientific and applied content, including AI, formal methodologies, blockchain technologies, and quantum computing. This contributes to developing specialists capable of devising proactive solutions for detecting cyber threats, verifying the integrity of critical systems, and strengthening digital security systems in line with the latest international standards.

Professor Adel Bouhoula, Head of the Computing Department and Programme Coordinator, affirmed that this diploma marks a great advancement in professional cybersecurity education, distinguished by its integration of academic theory and practical application as well as reliance on the latest emerging technologies to keep pace with the evolving and increasingly complex cyber threat landscape. Launching this programme demonstrates AGU's dedication to supporting digital transformation and providing high-quality programmes abreast with rapid global changes. These efforts aim to produce qualified personnel capable of enhancing cybersecurity at regional and international levels.

Dr Afaf Mubarak Bugawa, Director of AGU's Centre for Consultation and Training, reaffirmed the centre’s commitment to offering specialised professional programmes aligned with societal and institutional needs.
