
President of AGU meets with Student Council Members and Commends their Efforts

His Excellency the President of Arabian Gulf University (AGU), Dr Saad bin Saud Al Fuhaid, met with members of the Student Council of the College of Medicine and Health Sciences and commended their academic diligence and keenness to serve the community through awareness programs and various health activities.
The meeting discussed a set of academic goals and community initiatives that serve the interests of students, improve their educational journey, and provide them with a safe environment at the university.
Head of the Student Activities Unit, Professor Ahmed Al-Saei, indicated that elections were held at the beginning of each academic year according to regulations stipulating that every year of study is represented by a male and female council member. This year's elections, which took place in the university lobby, witnessed a large turnout and strong competition between candidates, resulting in the victory of Sarah Saqr Al-Balushi as President of the Council.
The new council was formed of 14 representatives from different Gulf nationalities. The 6th year is represented by Sarah Saqr Al-Balushi, while 5th year representative Munawer Abdul Nasser Al-Saeed is the Vice President. Also representing 5th year is Fatima Adnan Hussein as the person in charge of clinical years, while 4th year representative Fahad Nasser Al-Muhannadi is in charge of pre-clinical years.
1st year representative Mazoon Saeed Abdul Salam is the Council Secretary, 3rd year representative Fahad Abdul Nasser Al-Saeed handles the Activities Committee, 4th year representative Basma Bilal Al-Sayyed Saleh is the first deputy of the Activities Committee, while 2nd year representative Bashayer Khalifa Al-Shamri was chosen to be the second deputy.
1st year representative Hussein Ali Al-Marzouq heads the Media Committee, 6th year representative Mazen Saeed Al-Zahrani heads the Foreign Affairs Committee, 2nd year representative Widyan Hussein Al-Khater heads the Services Committee, while 2nd year representative Abdullah Muid Al-Wadai serves as deputy. The preparatory year students are represented by Abdullah Mansour Al-Nakhli and Jana Ali Al-Najmi.
For their part, the council members expressed their deep thanks to the university president and the college administration for their continuous support, promising to strive for more achievements to serve the student community and enhance student participation in medical and social activities.
