TEACHING AND RESEARCH -Arab Assosiation for Genetic Research

Scientific and technological research in all Arab counties is lacking in specialised research units at universities and research centres. Moreover, there is a shortage in trained scientific manpower and financial support, a scarce number of scientific publications, and a lack of awareness of the importance of protecting intellectual property rights. This calls for attention to and focus on enforcing joint Arab scientific research to advance scientific research, which is the main driver for the hoped-for economic and social development. As the Federation of Arab Scientific Research Councils encourages mutual research, and as the Arabian Gulf University called for the establishment of a Scientific Association called “Arab Association for Generic Research” headquartered at Princess Al Jawhara Al Ibrahim Centre for Molecular Medicine and Inherited Disorders, hosted by Arabian Gulf University, the constituent meeting for the Association was held in Bahrain at Arabian Gulf University on Thursday, 23 April 2015, attended by representatives of Federation members Arab institutions. During the meeting, the Association Charter was discussed and approved, as will be discussed later.
