A Strong Partnership

The deep-rooted fraternal relations between the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and the Kingdom of Bahrain have been distinguished by their historical depth and strengthened by ties of blood, heritage, and a shared destiny, and the leaderships of both countries have, over many decades, been committed to continuously strengthening this relationship and instilling it in the memory of successive generations within the framework of the Gulf Cooperation Council.
This relationship grows stronger day by day and is reflected in numerous joint development projects, and the King Abdullah Medical City project at the university stands as a precious jewel in the golden necklace of cooperation, charity, and development projects between the two countries. It will become a distinguished medical destination and a leading model for improving the quality of health services, as well as for advancing medical education and enhancing its efficiency in the Arabian Gulf region.
In April 2010, the Government of the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia granted a gift to the Kingdom of Bahrain in the amount of one billion Saudi riyals to build a medical city in the Kingdom of Bahrain affiliated with the Arabian Gulf University. The Government of the Kingdom of Bahrain also donated a plot of land measuring one million square meters for the construction of the medical city.
