The Chair
The Arabian Gulf University established the Chair of His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa in Digital Education, driven by a visionary commitment to advancing digital transformation across various sectors, including education. This Chair builds upon and further develops the activities of the previous King Hamad Chair in E-Learning, which the University had the honor of hosting in 2010, to keep pace with global developments in the fields of digital technologies and education.
The Chair aims to support the digital transformation process in the Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) countries and seeks to be a global leader in the development of digital education by promoting cutting-edge scientific research, fostering innovation in educational practices, building strategic partnerships, and enhancing capacity-building. It also aims to contribute to the formulation of policies that support the integration of digital education, improve the quality of its outcomes, and prepare qualified professionals capable of leading the future of education in the digital era.

- Publishing scientific papers in peer-reviewed international journals.
- Presenting research at international conferences (United States, Europe, Asia, Bahrain).
- Organizing two major scientific symposia in 2012 and 2016.

- Distance learning tools (Zoom, Moodle).
- Design and development of e-learning materials and courses.
- Learning difficulties and distance learning.
- The workshops targeted faculty members, graduate students, and teachers.
Local and International Participation

- Contribution to the development of educational strategies across the Arab world (such as the cloud computing strategy in Bahrain).
- Institutional Development and Partnerships
- Accreditation of the Chair’s program by the **AECT** (January 2018).
- Signing a support agreement with Al-Salam Bank in Bahrain.
- Participating in the development of the **Master’s Program in Digital Education** as a partner of the Chair.
