The Chair
The Chair of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said in the field of desert farming was established in October 1994, and the Sultan Qaboos Center for Desert Farming was affiliated with it in 2002.
The Chair’s vision is to occupy a prominent scientific position that effectively contributes to the localization and development of modern technologies, helps achieve food and water security in desert environments, and fulfills its mission of conducting innovative scientific research to provide appropriate solutions for the desert environment, as well as contributing to capacity building, knowledge sharing, and strengthening regional and international cooperation to enable the adoption and localization of modern agricultural technologies.
