Understand the principles of environmental pollution & Understand the integrated solid waste management to sustainability.

Define and characterize solid, liquid, and gas pollutants from technical and regulatory perspectives.

Identify the major health, social and ecological impacts of environmental pollution in the absence of -or inappropriate- waste management.

Gain the ability to evaluate and determine the waste-related environmental problems and contribute to choosing the most suitable solution to any waste problem.

Recognize the role and importance of strategies, policies, regulations, and legislations in waste management.

Identify the waste management practices and technologies based on Waste Management Hierarchy and 4Rs principle, including waste prevention and reduction, reuse, recycle, recovery, and disposal, besides the waste stream processes including waste collection, processing technologies, separation, transport, and storage.
